Bond…James Bond

Yup, I saw Quantum of Solace, the new James Bond movie on opening night. Did you really think I would wait a few days to see it?!? Please! Daniel Craig has to be the hottest James Bond ever. He fits the true essence of what the James Bond persona is supposed to be.

You have to see the first Bond movie, Casino Royale, to really appreciate Quantum of Solace. That is the only way the viewer can understand why particular things are happening. If you haven’t seen it yet, watch the DVD of Casino Royale before you go and see Quantum of Solace.

The movie continues where the last one left off. I was not disappointed. The new Bond girl, her name is Olga Kurylenko, is good as well. She reminded me of Catherine Zeta-Jones.

If you are a Bond fan, than this movie is a must see! Daniel Craig was a good enough reason for me.

Movie Review: The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor

I don’t know exactly where to begin in writing this review for The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor. I saw the movie on opening day, and I must say that I missed the original Evie previously played by Rachel Weisz, in the first two The Mummy movies. She was an integral part of the film.

The film was good, but not any where near the first two movies. It’s entertaining, full of action, and has an abundance of silly humour. But throughout the movie I kept thinking that something was missing.

Brendan Fraser does his role as expected as Rick O’Connell the explorer. The new Evelyn or Evie played by Maria Bello does a good job and performs well in some dangerous stunts. It’s not her fault at all that the original Evie is missed in the role.

Michelle Yeoh is amazing as Zi Juan, and has a presence that is beyond words. This woman is just fantastic! Jet Li does well as Emperor Han and the audience gets freaked out watching him in his nasty role.

Overall, it was a good movie, but not up to par with the original The Mummy movies.

The Dark Knight is truly dark!

Oh my goodness!!! I just came back from watching “The Dark Knight” and it was awesome! It’s not just the typical good guy versus bad guy plot. There are so many shades of grey. The main actors did an impressive job and I was on the edge of my seat.

There was one scene with the Joker that was really sinister, and I admit that I had to close my eyes for about 10 seconds. Yes, I got a little bit freaked out.

So please don’t take any young kids to this movie. If I got scared, I don’t know what the poor kiddies will do. Heath Ledger did an amazing job as the Joker. It’s really sad that he’s not here to receive the well deserved accolades.

Christian Bale rocks as Batman, and I especially liked his portrayal of the various emotions Batman is going through. Pain, love, fear, anger…the audience can feel it all.

I would highly recommend seeing this film. I give it two thumbs up! The Dark Knight is truly dark!
