TTC Observations
Riding the TTC can be fun at times. When?
Well, it’s always interesting to observe people and see what they are looking at.
My observations this past week:
- More men sleep/take a nap on the subway than women;
- More women stare at other people than men do;
- Most people don’t smile, especially if they are listening to their iPod;
- Men wearing suits always look embarrassed if they are carrying a lunch bag;
- More women than men attend to personal hygiene while riding the bus/subway. For example, plucking their eyebrows, (as I witnessed today).
These are some of my TTC observations. I am sure you all will have more to add to this list, and I’m sure I cn come up with a lot more.

There’ll be guys mostly who can be caught singing aloud (like myself sometimes)
The subway is good to travel…if only it were bigger
Those are some interesting observations… not just on the subway as well as local buses I have seem men nap/sleeping…quite an interesting observation.. im quite interested by point number 5. plucking their eyebrows?…wouldnt that be difficult to do effectivly ? LOL ..
I have seen people do funny things in TTC or GO transit. Funniest I have to admit were some of the women falling asleep. Not just falling asleep but with style. These were the women who looked very high maintenance types. They would come sit down, looking like a snob and putting their make up on. After the make up they would settle back and then within a few minutes fall asleep with their heads back and mouths open! ahaha funniest sights!
Actually I saw this girl sitting in the subway who took the prize for the funniest person sleeping on TTC. She sat down nicely and with in a few seconds fell asleep. So far so good. Then her head hung down, thus chin touching chest. Then chin turned to the left and mouth opened. Then her whole body leaned to the left. Just imagine trying to touch your chin to the left elbow or trying to listen to a kid on the left hand side of her. She kept leaning to the left. Whenever the train would come to an abrupt stop, she would wake up, sit straight, close her mouth but with in less than one second fall asleep again.
I sat there looking at my watch and sure enough she was falling asleep with in one second of her getting up. ahahaa i should’ve taken the picture and put it here but wasn’t sure if it’d be violating some sort of law.
That is HILARIOUS!!!
We see so many things on the TTC & the transit system.
In response to personal hygiene, I once saw a woman “getting ready” so to say for an interview or something. She was curling her eyelashes with one of them curlers, and then she started putting on nail polish on her finger nails.
Oh my goodness! An eyelash curler? WOW
