Kismat Konnection hits the right note!

I went to see Kismat Konnection at my local desi theatre, and it was money worth spent. I came out of the movie with a smile on my face. It was a simple, light hearted, and clean movie and I throughly enjoyed it.

Shahid Kapur and Vidya Balan did a great job in their roles, and the chemistry between them was fantastic. They were able to portray their characters in such a realistic way, that as you are watching, you can feel the build up of emotions and attraction without it being thrown in your face.

The songs were all good – I did not get bored of any of them, and they were enjoyable to watch. The comedy in the film is understated and not slap-stick, which I liked. It was great seeing so many outdoor shots of Toronto. The only funny thing is when they show Niagara Falls, it seems like it’s just minutes away from T.O. I hate to burst the bubble for people who haven’t visited Toronto, but Niagara Falls is a two and a half hour drive from here! :)

So if you’re looking for a simple, yet entertaining movie to watch, I would definitely recommend Kismat Konnection as an option!

And the fact they said that “the lift is not working” in the movie. :-) No one calls it a “lift” in Toronto. We call it “elevator” here. So, that was a little out of sync.
And yep the part about Niagara Falls was too funny. LOL but overall the movie was really a light hearted, fun to watch movie which I also enjoyed.
On another note, I think Vidya’s acting was also better than Shahid’s.

    I loved this movie too!
Although I could never figure where that location was where Vidya went to meet her waving friend. It’s a very nice find…
The songs are all great as well, very lovely listenable tracks. The title track having very unique, pumped up music.
A surefire hit and a must watch!

That place is in Etobicoke…Lakeshore. The white bridge gives it away. I liked the music as well. :)

I’ve seen this movie 4 times already because my daughter pops in the DVD for the songs….at first I thought that perhaps it was an old film that was released late because Shahid looks a bit “undeveloped” compared to his look in “Jab We Met”……I probably would have enjoyed it more had I seen it before J.W.M. but all in all it’s a cute film…..and I think the supporting actor “Vishal”?? did a really good job as well. I thought he was hilarious in the Harbourfront/protesting scene…….Juhi Chawla tried really hard to appeal to her audience and I found her funny as well…some of her lingo really caught be my surprise but I think Indian writers are really paying attention to Hollywood now.

LOL! 4 times?! That’s awesome. It’s a nice movie. Yup, that protesting scene was really funny. One minute they are coming to meet her, and the next they are shocked and holding signs.;)
